Moved in...

We lived in a house that went into foreclosure so we got kicked out. We didn't have enough money to pay rent or buy a house so the only option we had was to move in with family, and we moved in with his parents. They had the most room and it was the more reasonable option. We've been here for about a week, it's has been difficult to go from a 4 bedroom house to one little bedroom. We live on the opposite side of the house from his parents. So it is kind of like we have our own house, because it's just us and them, but it's just the fact we can't say it's our own. Don't get me wrong, we are SO GRATEFUL that they are allowing us to live with them and it's fun to see his family more. We just can't say its ours so it's just really humbling for us. Hopefully, we won't have to stay here too long so they can have their house back. See, their oldest daughter and her family of 4 moved in September 09 and moved out in May....and then we moved in early August. So they had their house to themselves for about 3 months. So for their sake, I hope we move out soon......no longer than 6 months until I can find a job. We shall see what the lord will bring us.

storyteller weekend...

So this weekend Devin and I were supposed to go to Utah with some friends, but things came up and we didn't end up going. Instead, Devin and I went to Flagstaff to get out of the heat we went up Friday and came home Sunday. Friday night we stayed in this really nice hotel called Drury Inn, it was our splurge for a really long time. We came to our conclusion that we LOVE staying in hotels! It's our new favorite thing. Then, Saturday my sister was moving into her new house so we helped with that all day. Then Devin wanted to stay the night at their house, but i convinced him to stay somewhere else. The somewhere else was an extremely cheap old motel that was made in the 50's on route 66. It was old and dirty. Well, not that dirty but it was definitely dirtier than the Drury Inn. It smelled kinda funny and we found some blood on one of the pillow cases and towels. The room looked it hasn't been used in awhile. It was a different experience for me; Devin didn't mind it so much....minus the blood on the pillow case he was using. We both have always wanted to stay in and old motel on route 66, so we fulfilled a life long dream but it's something i wouldn't do again. Then Sunday we spent time with my sister and brother all day and it was nice! So that is my storyteller weekend....it was a fun weekend a new adventure.

Reunions

Every year my family stays at our cabin for about a week, depending on the family, and Devin's family camps for a week for our family reunions. Both reunions always happen the same week, and always 3 miles away from each other, never planned...just coincidence. Being married this year was kind of difficult for us. We both wanted to be at our own reunions all the time, and we both had our own traditions that we "had" to sick to. So we talked about it and worked something out, during the day we would go to the homestead (my cabin), and at night we would stay at the Bryce camp. I hate tents so we put a queen size mattress in the back of his dads Expedition and slept there, and pretty well I might add. Except for the first night, Devin snores and in a contained area it seemed like it was extra loud. (the fact that I'm a light sleeper didn't help either) Luckily, the next day my sister was going into Show low the next day, and I asked her to get me some ear plugs. Oh my lanta, they worked like magic. I called them my miracle workers I didn't hear a thing! I slept way better after that! We had lots of fun between the two reunions; it was good to see family that we hadn't seen/talk to in awhile. We worked everything out, and next year the Bryce reunion will be a week earlier so we will be able be a both reunions the whole time. We are both very excited!

No worries, I will post pictures another day I can't find my cord for my camera to upload the pictures from my camera to my computer.

Perfect rainy day!

So as you all Phoenicians know....it has been raining a great deal. I love rainy days in the summer time it's not too cold, it's too hot and it's not extremely bright out side. Yesterday was especially perfect, it was a complete lazy for me AND Devin, usually it's just a lazy day for me so it was very rare day. He usually can't sit still for 30 min...unless he's playing video games. :( Anyways, we both played in the rain a little bit, we sat on our porch watched the rain; Mom and Dad used to do it every time it rained if they could....it reminded me of them....which I loved! :) Then we fell asleep on the couch just talking and listening to it rain. It was a perfect rainy day with my most favorite person in the world! I love lazy rainy days in the summer time!
